Ledford, Marshall E., Mrs. (Mamie Edna Barnette)

Graveside services for Mamie Barnette Ledford, 91, of Lubbock, formerly of Abernathy, were at 3 p.m. today in Abernathy Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Kelley, pastor of Abernathy First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial arrangements were by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ledford died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Lubbock.

She was born April 12, 1912, in Hunt County. She graduated from school in Fairlee and attended Commerce Junior College.

On Oct. 23, 1923, she married Marshall E. Ledford in Commerce and they lived in West Texas in the Acuff and Midway communities. In 1941, they moved west of Abernathy where they farmed until retiring in 1969. He died Oct. 15, 1991. She lived in Abernathy until moving to Lubbock in 2001.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Harvey Lutrick of Abernathy; a grandson, Johnny Lutrick of Ransom County; a great-grandson, Logan Lutrick of Lubbock; a great-great-grandaughter, Lillian Lutrickof Idalou; and a special friend, Shawnee Cota of Lubbock.

The family suggests memorials to the Abernathy Cemetery Association c/o First State Bank, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to a favorite charity.
