Obituary

Funeral services for Ismael F. Leal Sr., 78, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez, associate pastor, officiating. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Leal died at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, in Covenant Hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Poteet. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a farmer. He moved to Plainview in 1960 from San Antonio and retired in 1993. He married Guadalupe Ortiz in May 1962 in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Susan Chavez of Amarillo, Janie Sauceda of Hobbs, N.M., Barbara Ramirez and Sarah Garcia, both of Plainview, and Becky Cardenas of Albuquerque, N.M.; six sons, Fernando Leal of Plainview, David Leal of Austin, Ismael Leal Jr., Tony Leal, Salvador Bustillos and Felix Bustillos, all of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
