Lynue 'Lynn' J. Laymon Funeral services for Lynue "Lynn" J. Laymon, 89 of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Danny Laws officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Laymon died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Plainview. He was born April 11, 1924, in Floral, Ark., to Sam and Ethel McGough Laymon. He worked for the railroad in Quitaque, then helped build the "Shot-Cap" road to Memphis, Texas. He then moved to Plainview and went to work for Bryan-Hoffman Road Construction Co., then Hamby Farm Implement Company for 15 years as a welder and then for Plainview Independent School District in the Maintenance Department until retirement. He is survived by his wife, Faye Laymon; three sons, Dannie Laymon and wife Carmen of Plainview, Donnie Laymon and wife Blan of Ranson Canyon and Tex Laymon and wife Margo of Lubbock; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ulis Laymon of Greenbiar, Ark.; two sisters, Osta Herron of Eldridge, Ala., and Janet Copeland of Batesville, Ark. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Myrtle Evelyn Laymon; one brother, Connie Laymon, and one sister, Tilda Sue Laymon.
