No services will be held for Jerald "Jerry" Larsen, 63, who died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at his residence of heart disease.
Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Omaha, Neb., and graduated from Benson High School in Omaha. He attended college in Omaha and broadcasting school in Minneapolis, Minn. Radio and television jobs took him to Iowa, South Dakota, Florida and Colorado before coming to Texas in 1990.
He was already affiliated with Equicom before moving to Plainview and had enjoyed a 40-year career in broadcasting. He had been general manager of Equicom Radio in Plainview, which included KKYN, KVOP, KRIA and KREW, since June 2002.
He served with the U.S. Army on military radio during the Korean War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
On May 7, 1982, he married Carolyn Bellman in Brookings, S.D.
Survivors include his wife; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Annette Larsen of Seguin; a sister, Shirley Bruckner of Omaha; two stepsons, John Bellman of Austin and James Bellman of Lake Norden, S.D.; and a granddaugther, Dana Haberling of Atlanta, Ga.
The family suggests memorials to the Plainview Humane Society.
