Obituary

Robert Langston, 76, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Tim Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 6, 2011, at the funeral home. Robert was born Jan. 3, 1935, to Otto and Nellie Langston in Canyon, Texas. He married Jerry Roberts on Aug. 29, 1959, in Compton, Calif. Robert served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a longtime Plainview resident. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Nellie Langston; one brother, Troy Langston; and two sisters, Imogene Irene Walker and Gertrude Trotter. He is survived by his wife, Jerry "Bob" Langston of Plainview; one daughter, Denise Schumacher and her husband, Dwain, of Midland; one son, Robert Norris "Bobby" and his wife, Nikki, of Plainview; two brothers, W.F. "Bill" Langston and his wife, Sue, of Plainview; and Donald Ray Langston and his wife, Delia, of Granbury; one sister, Dorothy Richardson of Plainview; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
