HALE CENTER ? Funeral services for Frances W. Laney, 78, of Hale Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Erwin, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Stamford, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center.
Mrs. Laney died at 2:24 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2000, in Prairie House Living Center in Plainview.
She was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Hale Center. She graduated from Hale Center High School. She married W. G. Laney on June 26, 1940, in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of the Hale Center Church of Christ and a longtime supporter of school, community and charitable activities in Hale Center.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Nelda Laney and Mark and Benda Laney of Hale Center; and seven grandchildren, Kalyn Laney of Austin, Jamey Phillips and her husband, Ronald of Lubbock, J. Pere Laney and his wife, Melonie of Waco, Kim Laney of Dallas, Ryan Laney of Alameda, Calif., Tyler Laney of Dallas and Whitney Laney of Austin. A brother, Johnny Wilson is deceased.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Laney?s grandsons, J. Pete Laney, Ryan Laney, Tyler Laney, her grandson-in-law, Ronald Phillips, Bradley Bryan of Austin and Sparks Redinger of Hale Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Frances Laney Memorial Fund at the first National Bank of West Texas, P.O. Drawer A., Hale Center, TX 79041 or to a favorite charity.
