Obituary

Jovita (Ochoa) Landa, 87, of Tyler, formerly of Edmonson, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2014. A rosary will be said on Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be recited on May 2, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Interment will follow the service in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral service arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Landa was born on May 10, 1926, in Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico. She married Jose (Enrique) Landa on Jan. 21, 1956, in Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. She spent her life taking care of her family as a homemaker, but also spent much of her time employed at Edmonson First Baptist Church as a babysitter. Mrs. Landa was very well-known and made friends wherever she went. She is preceded in death by her husband. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Cathy and husband Valente Jr. Chavez of Snyder, Texas, and one son, Paul and wife Debbie Landa of Tyler, Texas.
