Funeral services for Jane LaFont, 80, will be at 3 p.m. today in St. Mark?s Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Mock Sr., former rector of the church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. LaFont died at 3:10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, in Prairie House Living Center.

She was born July 22, 1918 in Plainview, graduated from Plainview High School and from Lippert?s Business College here. She worked as a secretary for the Hale County agricultural agent and for the Hale County judge. She was a member of St. Mark?s Episcopal Church, the Great Books Club and the Hobby Club.

She married H.M. LaFont on Nov. 11, 1933 in Plainview.

She was the mother of two children: Bill LaFont and Gail Lafont Huie.
