Obituary

Graveside services for Marguerite Labay, 89, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Max Browning, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial arrangements are by Lemons Funeral home. Mrs. Labay died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born Jan. 6, 1912, in Estelline where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Texas A&M and taught school in Estelline. She moved to Spur in 1954 and to Plainview in 1950. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Plainview Country Club and the Duplicate Bridge Club. In 1946, she married Walter C. Labay in Oklahoma. He died July 8, 1988 in Plainview. Survivors include two nephews, James Moore Whaley of Houston and Hulen E. Clifton of Estelline. The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, Boys Ranch or to the Prairie House Living Center.
