Obituary

David Ernest Koenning, 54, of Lubbock went to be with his Lord and beloved wife, Theresa, on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2011, after a brief illness. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Gerald Boerger officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held after the memorial service at the church. David was born in Plain?view, Texas, on March 24, 1957, to Elmer Ray and Eva Mae Koenning. He graduated from Plainview High School and later TSTI of Amarillo. David married Theresa Wyckoff on April 25, 1981. She preceded him in death in March 3, 1999. David enjoyed his life while farming and trucking. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He also was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Bill Ernest and Selma Kahl Koenning and Charles Edwin and Eunice Mae Jackson Pope; his uncle, Clarence Koenning; and several cousins. David is survived by his son, Kody Ray Evan Koenning of Amarillo, Texas; his parents, Elmer and Eva Mae Koenning of Plainview, Texas; two brothers, Michael and wife Kipa McFarland Koenning and their children, Lesha Koenning of Houston, Texas, and Jarret Koenning of Fort Worth, Texas, Don and wife Dawn Lynn Koenning of Abilene, Texas, and their children, Dawn Michelle and Jeff Allmand and children, Dustin and Tammy Koenning and John and Rachel Gargile, all of Abilene, Texas, Sarah and Rick Hardgrave of Tampa, Fla., Josh Spake of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jason Spake of Wademia, Minn.; an uncle, James Edwin Pope and wife Jean of Slocomb, Ala.; two aunts, Willie Mae McMurry of Midland, Texas, and Dorothy Sue and husband Keneith Bedsole of Enterprise, Ala.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
