Obituary

Services for Nobuko Kitchens, 69, of Abernathy, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wilcox, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

She died Sunday, June 25, 2000, in Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Okinawa, Japan. She married Woodrow Wilson Kitchens in 1953 in Okinawa, Japan. They moved to the United States that year.

Her husband died May 28, 1977.

She moved to Abernathy in 1960, where she was a cafeteria worker for The Abernathy Independent School District until her retirement in 1996 after 28 years.

She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Abernathy.

Survivors include two daughters, Ginny Bridges of Abernathy and Lisa Mize of Crosbyton; and five grandchildren.
