Obituary

Maurine Kirkpatrick, 87, of Plainview went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Hobbs, N.M. Annie Maurine was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Buffalo Gap, Texas. She moved with her family at an early age and attended school in Halfway. She married Eugene Lee in 1936, and later married Clifton Kirkpatrick in 1947, in Coleman, Texas. They lived in Plainview most of their married life. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ and worked for the Plainview School Cafeteria Service for 27 years. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Marvin; one sister, Virginia; and two brothers, William W. and Charlie. Maurine is survived by three sons, Gary Lee of Columbia, Tenn., Mike Kirkpatrick of Slaton, Texas, and Mark of Portland, Texas; two daughters, Alta Cooper of Hobbs, N.M., and Margo Laymon of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Alvina Taylor of Onalaska, Texas, and Edna Quisenberry of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, in Garland Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lubbock Children's Home, Plainview Meals on Wheels, Vista Care Hospice of Plainview and Hobbs and Star Hospice of Hobbs
