Funeral services for Jewell Frances Kirk, 84, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in franklin-Bartley Chapel with the Rev. James W. Woodworth, associate minister of First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Franklin- Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kirk died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in Covenant Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Aspermont. She graduated from Meadow High Scholl and Lippert?s Business College in Plainview in 1936. She worked for Panhandle Compress and Warehouse for 16 years.
In 1967, she moved to Portales, N.M., and owned and operated a children?s store, Play-mates, from 1970-1981 when she retired and moved back to Plainview. She moved to Lubbock in 1994.
On May, 10, 1936, she married Mike Kirk in Meadow. He died in 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Gin Durham; one son, Bob Kirk; a sister, Midge Burleson of Tulia; a brother, W.F. Jones of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great=great-grandchildren.
