Kirchoff, Halbert William, Mrs. (Leona Edna Seirp)
Funeral services for Edna Leona Kirchoff, 96, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kirchoff died at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998 in Methodist Hospital Plainview.
She was born April 24, 1901, in Edwardsport, Ind., where she grew up and attended schools. She taught school in Freelandville in a one-room school house until 1921 when she moved to Bicknell, Ind., for two years. She moved to Hale County in 1930 and farmed.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women. She was a member and twice president of Travel Study Club and Woman?s Club of Plainview.
On July 9, 1921, she married Hal W. Kirchoff in Freelandville. He died Sept. 18, 1983.
Survivors include two sons, George G. Kirchoff of Pampa and Robert E. Kirchoff, of Plainview; two brothers, W.C. Seirp and Kenneth Seirp, both of Las Cruces, N.M.; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Patricia Lou Howard, is deceased.
The family will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in the church parlor and a noon meal will be served at the church.
