Obituary

Funeral services for Shirley Ruth Kirchhoff, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald Boerger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Kirchhoff died at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Plainview Healthcare Center after a battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Texas, the daughter of William W. and Ruth Gravelle. She moved to Hale County at a young age with her parents and lived in the Sunshine community near Hale Center. She attended Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. She worked at City National Bank and Halfway Co-op as a bookkeeper. On Sept. 16, 1945, she married Robert Kirchhoff in San Angelo. He died May 4, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Albert E. Kirchhoff of Papillon, Neb., and Ronald R. Kirchhoff of Plainview; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today. They suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society.
