Funeral services for Robert E. ?Bob? Kirchhoff, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. Steve Rogers, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Kirchhoff died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 1, 1923 in Edwardsport, Ind. and moved to the Plainview area with his parents, the late Hal and Leona Kirchhoff, at the age of 7. He graduated from Plainview High School and attended Texas A&M University.

He married Shirley Ruth Gravelle on Sept. 16, 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps for two years and was part of the occupation forces in Japan. He returned to Texas and farmed south of Halfway for 32 yrs. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 58 in Halfway for a couple of years.

Mr. Kirchhoff also was a member of the Plainview Chapter of the Barbershop Quarter Singers of America for several years.

On May 12, 1980, he married Marilyn L. ?Lyn? Emerson and farmed in the Providence Community until retiring. He and his wife ran the Open Hand Thrift Store, were owners of the Kirchhoff Kostume Kloset and served for several years on the Plainview Humane Society board.

Surviving are his wife, Lyn; his former wife, Shirley Gravelle Kirchhoff; two sons, Albert E. Kirchhoff of Wichita Falls and Ronald R. Kirchhoff of Plainview; two stepsons, Scott E. Meyer of Fallon, Nev. And Steve Meyer of High Rolls, N.M.; one stepdaugher, Mindy Rupp of Dallas; a brother, George Kirchhoff of Pampa; an uncle, Ken Sierp of Las Cruces, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including John Joe Kirchhoff of Plainview.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Family Hospice, Plainview Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
