King, Joseph Carl

Services for Joseph Carl King, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. King died at 4:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born April 17, 1909, in Hunt County. He married Lois Smith on June 12, 1937, in Atlanta, Ga.

He moved to the Plainview area in 1951. He was a farmer at Halfway until retiring in 1974 when he moved to Plainview.

He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and visiting his extended family.

He was a longtime member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Morse of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; a son, Gene King of Georgetown; two brothers, Edward King and Sidney King, both of Dallas; one sister, Faye Willis of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A son, Joe King, and eight brothers and sisters are deceased.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
