Funeral services for James Maylon Kimble, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Russell Harris, minister of Garland Street Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Kimble died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in Care Inn of Plainview.
He was born May 5, 1918, in Spur and attended school in Pleasant Hill in Floyd County.
He lived in Ruidoso, N.M., and owned and operated The Fire Place Center from 1974 until he sold it in 1977.
He began operating a bowling alley in 1981 when he moved to Amarillo and worked for Moon Roofing for many years.
He moved to Plainview in 2001.
He was a World War II veteran.
In 1937, he married Anna Mae Brashears. She died in 1990.
He married Elinor Needham in 1990. She died Jan. 3, 2001.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Riley Winton of Plainview; three nieces, Paula Buford of Plainview, Priscilla Johnson of Eustace and Patricia Neeley of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Mary Ellen Needham of Canyon; eight stepsons, Dr. Patrick Needham of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dr. Thomas Needham of Amarillo, James Needham of Mendham, N.J., Robert Needham of San Antonio, Richard Needham of Dallas, Bill Needham and David Needham, both of Amarillo, and Daniel Needham of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and two step-grandsons, Little Ivan Rogers of Florence, Ore., and David Rogers of Napa, Calif.
