Obituary

Sue Kidwell, age 85, of Plainview passed away May 19, 2011, in San Antonio. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church with David Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lemons Funeral Home. Sue was born Oct. 31, 1925, to C.C. and Dena (Nichols) Casey in Brownfield, Texas. She attended school in Plainview and graduated from Wayland. She received her master's in English from West Texas University. Sue married Jesse "Pete" Ray Kidwell on June 2, 1946, in Plainview. She was a teacher and taught for 31 years at Plainview High School. Sue was a member of Gamma Delphin Study Club and was an avid reader. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Plainview, the Naomi Ruth Circle and the Presbyterian Women's group. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse "Pete" Kidwell in February 2001; and one daughter, Dena Ann Kidwell. She is survived by her son, David Casey of Denison; her daughter, Jesseca Ezekiel and husband Zeke of San Antonio; her brother, Charlie Whitacre of Plainview; her sister, Doris Tilson of Lubbock; and her granddaughter, Emily Anne Davis.
