Obituary

Donald T. Kelm, 80, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Heckmann officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Kelm was born on Nov. 18, 1933, to Albert Theodore and Bertha Kelm in Silverton. He attended Plainview High School. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army where he served honorably. He lived in Providence where he farmed and later moved to Plainview. He married Loretta Peugh on Dec. 22, 1965, in Plainview. After farming he continued working for JMS Equipment for 13 years. He was a godly man who was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the "Unofficial Plainview Coffee Club." He was loved by all and seen as a kind and honorable son. He was a supportive and faithful husband, a true gentleman's gentlemen. Donald was an outstanding and loving father, the family's personal hero. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Melvin Edward Kelm. Donald is survived by his wife Loretta Kelm of Plainview; four children, James Kelm of Plainview, LaDonna Mooney and husband Jim of Hale Center, Warren Kelm and wife Doreene of Albuquerque, N.M., and Julie Anderson and husband Brett of Plainview; six grandchildren, Michael Kelm of Albuquerque, Zane Mooney of Balko, Okla., Kaelene Mooney of Hale Center, Megan, Simon and Joshua David Lenart of Plainview; four stepgrandchildren, Clint and Lauren Russell of Albuquerque and Dakota and Ben Anderson of Plainview; and one great-grandson, Ryker Mills-Mooney.
