Obituary

Alma Lorays Totten Kelly, 97, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Brock, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kelly was born in Clarendon, Texas, on Sept. 27, 1912, to Dee B. and Clora Totten. Alma graduated from Portales, N.M., High School. On June 13, 1933, she married Jimmie Lee Kelly from Fort Townsen, Okla., in Roswell, N.M. They had two children, Jim D. Kelly and C. Merton Kelly (deceased). Alma worked along with her husband beginning in 1948 at Kelly Refrigeration and Electrical in Plainview, the Frigidaire franchise. Alma was in charge of all office and accounting duties. Alma was a member of First Baptist Church and the Terrell Sunday School Class. Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Dee B. and Clora Totten; sisters, Gladys Hahn, Grace Hahn and twins EvaLee and EvaMay Totten; and brothers, Lloyd and Bufford Totten. Alma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie D. and Iryna S. Kelly of Plainview; grandchildren, Jimmie and Susan Kelly of Denver, Colo., Karl and DeLynn Wardlow of Plainview, David Kelly of St. Petersburg, Fla., Gregg and Sandra Reid of Clovis, N.M., and Bryan and Laura Reid of Clovis, N. M.; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Conor Kelly of Denver, Colo., Shields and Cerissa Stockdale of Houston, Kailey Wardlow of Austin, Gered, Travis and Tiffany Reid and Levi and Hanah Reid, all of Clovis, N.M.; and one great-great granddaughter, Tess Lorays Stockdale of Houston.
