Obituary
Johnnie Mae Kellison, 91, passed away July 7, 2008, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Lockney with the Rev. Kyle Brock officiating, and the Rev. David Hartman assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Johnnie Mae Kellison was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Milburn, Okla., to Henry Goodman and Lillie Mae (Helms) Goodman. She graduated from high school in Vinson, Okla. She married George Earl Kellison in Hollis, Okla., in 1934. They moved to Lockney in 1946. They were married for 55 wonderful years. They were blessed with two children, Ricky and Nita. George Earl Kellison preceded her in death on May 30, 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lockney. Johnnie loved working with her hands and enjoyed being a self-employed wood finisher. She was a very loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Ray Goodman. She is survived by a son, Rick Kellison and his wife, Kathy, of Lockney; a daughter, Nita Henderson and her husband, Deanie, of Plainview; a brother, Henry Goodman of Aztec, N.M.; a sister-in-law, Naomi Green of San Angelo, Texas; a sister, Almola Maynard of Georgetown, Texas; five grandchildren, Ginger and Mike Mathis of Lockney, Mona and Mark Gardenhire of Albany, Texas, Kori and Pat Green of Fort Worth, Texas, Corbin and Amy Kellison of Lockney and Kristen and Jason Surles of Hondo, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
