Kelley, Orlando, Mrs. (Alpha Shuey)

ABERNATHY ? Graveside services for Alpha S. Kelley, 94, of New Deal, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Abernathy Cemetery with David Bennet, a Church of Christ minister from Portales, N.M., officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kelley died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in Lubbock.

She was born in Palo Pinto on June 20, 1906. She moved to New Deal in 1986 from Abernathy. She was a member of Abernathy Church of Christ.

On Nov. 18, 1923, she married Orlando Kelly in Iowa Park. He died July 23, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Virgil Kelley of Ahwahnee, Calif.; five daughters, Malada Tull of Wolfforth, Mabel Torres of Lubbock, Berneice Rhodes of Gilmer, Vernita Gordon of Abernathy and Jo Davis of Lubbock; a sister Maurine Gregg of Tahoka; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A son, Marvin Kelley, died in June of 1985.
