Obituary

Funeral services for Charley Leroy Kelley, 83, of Weatherford, formerly of Hale Center, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Center First Baptist Church with Dr. Carrol Green officiating. Burial will follow in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center. Mr. Kelley died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, in Weatherford. He was born June 20, 1927, in Abernathy to Arcado and Alberta Barron Kelley. He married Jerolene Faith Copeland on Dec. 22, 1945, in Lubbock. He graduated from Petersburg High School and lived in Hale Center for 42 years before moving to Weatherford in 1999. He was a member of Hale Center First Baptist Church and was a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an electrical contractor, working all over the United States. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Karon Kelley Medlin, Sharon Kelley Goree and Rhonda Kelley Fowler, all of Weatherford, Glynda Kelley Williams of Murchison and Brynda Kelley Pool of La Rue; two brothers, John Willis Kelley of Ozona and Carl Ray Kelley of Abernathy; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. His parents; a son, Morris Kent Kelley; a granddaughter, Jennifer Na'Coe Goree; and two brothers, E.J. Kelley and Alfred Kelley, are deceased.
