Obituary

Wilma Ruth Kelley of Lubbock departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the age of 78. She was born March 31, 1932 in Cooperton, OK to Roy and Elizabeth Smith. She graduated from Abernathy High School and then married Alfred Lee Kelley on November 20, 1948 in Abernathy. They lived in Seagraves for 33 years before moving to Lubbock in 1986. Wilma was a member of Center Church in New Deal.

Her memory will be cherished by her three sons, Ron of Muskogee, Okla., Gary and wife Dana of Las Vegas, Nev. and Bruce of Lubbock; daughter, Carolyn Christopher and husband Curtis of Kerrville; brother, Carl Smith and wife Geneva of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Alice Lisk of Sedona, Ariz. and Lorene Smith of Abilene; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, July 3, 2009; parents; two brothers, Andrew "Buck" Smith and Ray Smith; and one sister, Arzelda Wright.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou. Interment will follow at the Abernathy Cemetery.
