Obituary

Alfred Lee Kelley of Lubbock, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, departed this life at the age of 83 years, on July 3, 2009 at Covenant Hospital after a long illness.

He was born October 8, 1925, in Abernathy, Texas, the son of late Arcado and Alberta Kelley. He was the 2nd to oldest of five siblings. Alfred graduated from Abernathy High School. He married Wilma Ruth Smith on November 20, 1948 in Lubbock. Mr. Kelley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his discharge, he was employed by Southwestern Public Service for 35 years, retiring in 1986.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Wilma of 61 years; three sons, Ron Kelley of Muskogee, OK, Gary and wife Dana Kelley of Las Vegas, NV, and Bruce Kelley of Lubbock; one daughter, Carolyn and husband Curtis Christopher of Ingram, TX; grandchildren, Rick and Regina Kelley of Muskogee OK, Shane and Erica of Plano, TX, Matt Yocom of Dallas, TX, Madison Kelley of Stokesdale, NC, Leroy Kelley of Weatherford, TX, John Kelley of Ozona, TX, Carl Kelley of Abernathy, TX; and three brothers, Leroy Kelley of Weatherford, TX, John Kelley of Ozona, TX, and Carl Kelley of Abernathy, TX.
