Obituary
Charles Keisling, 86, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at his residence in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. He was born on Nov. 7, 1922, in Sparingburg, Texas, to Charlie Irvin and Carrie Lee Keisling. Charles married Hettie Jo Sweatt on Aug. 23, 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radioman third class. He worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for several businesses in Plainview. He played guitar with The Millennium Singers. He was a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Hettie Jo Keisling; two daughters, Karen Keisling Rushing and husband, Mike, of Cooper, Texas, and Charlotte Keisling Vickers of Plainview; two brothers, Delmer Keisling of Dumas and Walter Keisling of Dumas; grandchildren, Todd Rushing, Jennifer Rushing Palmer, Annette Burke, Shawn Vickers, Troy Vickers, David Perry, Carrie Keisling and Christopher Keisling; great-grandchildren, Nathan Wolfe, Jessie Wolfe, Travis Rushing, Garrett Rushing, Justin Atchison, Sydney Vickers, Oakley Vickers, Jade Vickers, Meadow Vickers, Whitney Palmer, Nathan Palmer, Shane Burke, Christopher Burke and Nathan Burke; great-great-grandchild, Abagail Burke; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by a son, Randy Keisling; his parents, Charles and Carrie; four sisters, Gladys Ramsey, Margaret Mayhall, Helen Dove and Dorothy Henry; and two brothers, James Keisling and Harold Keisling.
