Obituary

Rex DeArman Jordan died June 6, 2007, at the age of 72, after a courageous, six-month battle with cancer. Born Oct. 6, 1935, in Edinburg, Texas, to Jane and Reginald Benjamin Jordan, Rex moved to Plainview at age 8. A graduate of Plainview High School, he attended Rice University on a basketball scholarship before transferring to Texas Tech University. He married Eleanor Quinby Perry in 1957 and began his farming career in Plainview. Rex farmed in the Plainview and Edmonson area for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy Joy Ramsower. He is survived by his son, Keith Jordan, and wife, Angie Jordan, of Dripping Springs, Texas; his daughter, Hallye Jordan, and husband, Edward Manavian, of Sacramento, Calif.; nephews Brad Ramsower of Plainview and Rod Ramsower of Lubbock; and niece, Lawren Hall of Galveston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation at VistaCare of Plainview. The family will hold a reception in Rex's memory from 4-6 p.m. June 23 at the Plainview Country Club.
