Juanita Hamilton Jordan
Funeral services for Juanita Hamilton Jordan, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jordan died at her home Friday, Dec. 20, 1996.
The former Juanita Love was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Floydada, grew up in Childress and attended Childress schools. She married Elmer D. Hamilton on Oct. 10, 1940, in Hollis, Okla. They lived in Kirkland and in Childress until moving to Plainview in 1957. Mr. Hamilton died in Plainview in 1967.
She married Eddie Jordan in Tulia on Aug. 12, 1968. She had worked as a grocery clerk at Ritter Food, Dunn Food and J&S Fruit Market. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Linda Presley, Nancy Cox and Judy Shuping, all of Plainview, and Brenda Marshall of Tulia; two sons, Johnny Hamilton of Plainview and Bruce Hamilton of Tulia; two brothers, Billy Ray Love of Wichita Falls and Ernest Love of Childress; four sisters, Minnie Shoffner of Childress, Ava Dean Shoffner of San Jose, Calif., and Betty Gray and Annie Ruth Raulston, both of Plainview; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
