Obituary
Julianne Redman Jonietz-beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother-died of congestive heart failure on Saturday, May 1, 2010. She passed away peacefully at her daughter's home under the watchful and tender care of Christus Santa Rosa Hospice and her family. Julie was born in Chicago IL on July 17, 1920, to Dr. and Mrs. Fred E. Redman and grew up in Washington, D.C. amidst many friends and family. She moved to San Antonio with her husband and two children in 1956. After 30 years of dedicated service, Julie retired from Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research. Julie was preceded in death by her husbands Richard Lynn Locke, Sr. in 1967, and Peter Charles Jonietz in 2006. Her sister, Eleanor Welch, died in 1994. Family members left behind include her children, Dr. Richard Lynn Locke, Jr. and wife Patty, Ann Locke Gilland and husband David and her stepchildren Charlene Jonietz Johnson and husband Dr. Robert Paul Johnson, Patricia Ann Jonietz, and Ronald C. Jonietz and wife Jan. Grandchildren are Christine Elizabeth Hanks, Donna Locke Flynn and husband Hugh, Lisa Charles McAnear, Kimberly Johnson Shafran and husband Tom, Jill Johnson Tucker and husband Larry, Brandi Jonietz Helvey and husband Michael. Great-grandchildren are T. Alexander and R. Brian Shafran, Laurel "Laney" and C. Reed Tucker, and Jacob Helvey.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on De Zavala Rd. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christus Hospice and Palliative Care, 4241 Woodcock Dr., Suite A-100, 78228.
