Obituary

Funeral services for Norman H. Jones, 70, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Tim Jones, Dwight Jones and Shawn Jones officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Jones died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at his residence under hospice care. He was born May 19, 1936, in Lamar County to Johnny and Birdie Jones. He married Charlene Hicks on Oct. 18, 1958, in Plainview. Mr. Jones moved to Plainview in 1951. He worked for C.W. Jones Mattress and Upholstery Co., and for Hutcherson Air Service, repairing aircraft upholstery. For the past 10 years he was self-employed at Miller Flying Service, repairing aircraft upholstery. Mr. Jones was pastor of Open Door Evangelism Pentecostal Church in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tim Jones and wife Donna of Canyon, Dwight Jones and wife Faith of Salem, Ind., and Shawn Jones and wife Dandy of Plainview; two sisters, Amie Fieseler of Paris, Texas, and Annie Farmer of Chicota; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His parents, five brothers and one sister are deceased. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
