Obituary

Funeral services for Myrtice Etoile Jones, 94, were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jones died at 12:21 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born June 17, 1911, in Hamilton County. She attended Lippert's Business College and worked as a sales clerk until retiring at age 60. She quilted for the public and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. On Nov. 26, 1931, she married Loy Jones in Hamilton. He died Feb. 7, 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Lona Jo Jolly of Kress and Lou Ann Hollister Douglas of Lockney; a brother, O.E. Kirk of Garland; a sister-in-law, Vada Kirk of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, one daughter, one brother and one sister are deceased. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
