Obituary
Services for Lloyd Jones, 65, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Abernathy with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating.
Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
He died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002.
He was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Hart. He was a former lineman for Southwestern Public Service in Plainview before moving to Lubbock to work for Acme Electric, where he worked until 1982, when he was transferred to Fort Worth. In 1997 Acme Electric transferred him back to Lubbock.
He was a member of Harwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth and a volunteer at the Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery Center, where he helped with remodeling. He counseled at prisons through AA, and had served as a sponsor. He was named a board member emeritus for AA.
Survivors include a son, Monty of El Paso; two daughters, Lola Jones of Lubbock and Tammy Sageser of Cotton Center; a brother, E.M. of Dimmitt; two sisters, Dorothy Gill of Canyon and Arlene Kerr of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
