Obituary

Funeral services for Dessie Mae Jones, 97, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Kress with Mike Talley officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones died Monday, July 13, 2009. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 22, 1911, in Oklahoma to Franklin and Dovie Ray. She married Ewel Benjamin Jones on Dec. 13, 1941, in Clovis, N.M. He died June 1, 2007. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Kress. Survivors include two grandsons, Jim Heathington of McKinney and Dusty Newton of Dallas; one son-in-law, Forrest Newton of Clarendon; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
