Funeral services for Earl Jasper Jones, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of Plainview New Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Jones died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Round Timbers, the son of Jasper Joseph and Gracie Woodie Rowlett Jones. He moved to Springlake in 1951 from Jal, N.M., and to Plainview in 1975. He worked as a pipeline superintendent for El Paso Natural Gas Co. for 42 years, retiring at the Dimmitt station in 1972. On Sept. 25, 1932, he married Ora Lee Rodgers in Lovington, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Wanda Dyer and husband Paul Dean of Weatherford and Norma Jean King and husband Otis Ray of Springlake; a son, A.J. Jones and wife Claudeen of Roswell, N.M.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Jones of Granbury; two sisters, Irene Smith and Billie Faye Fulfer of Jal, N.M.; two brothers, Richard Jones of Andrews and J.T. Jones of Aztec, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. His father, mother, a son, a sister, grandson and great-grandson are deceased.
