Obituary

Funeral services for Leola Jones, 80, were at 2 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Doug Yates, pastor of Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene, officiating. The body was cremated after the services. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Honey Grove to Andrew Thomas and Ada Pearl Panter. She graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1942 and began working for Phillips Petroleum in Borger. She moved to Plainview in 1948 and married Charlie Woodrow Jones on July 9, 1949, in Plainview. He died Aug. 15, 1978. They owned and operated Jones Upholstery for 57 years. She was a member of Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her son, C.W. "Chuck" Jones Jr. of Plainview; and a grandson, Raymond Daxx Jones of Duncan, Okla. A son, Ronald Gerald Jones; her parents; a sister; and a brother are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the heart or diabetes foundations or a favorite charity.
