Johnson, T.J., Mrs. (Jean)

Hale Center-- Funeral services for Jean Johnson, 71, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Lee Griffin, pastor of Friendship Holy Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Hale Center.

She was born April 2, 1932, in Texarkana. She was a longtime resident of Hale Center, moving from Honey Grove.

She was a member of Friendship Holy Baptist Church for 26 years.

In 1953, she married T.J. Johnson in Bonham. He died in 1966.

Survivors include three sons, Wilmer Lee Briggs of Dallas, Ocie Johnson of Lubbock and W.H. Johnson of Hale Center; six duaghters, Nora Johnson, Doris Wilson and Vanessa James, all of Lubbock, Marilyn Johnson and Norma Johnson, both of Hale Center, and Patricia Fortune of Bellevue, Neb.; two brothers, Ira Boone of Hale Center and Ira Joe Poindexter of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Nona Johnson of Hale Center; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
