Obituary

Services for Johnny Johnson, 78, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley Memorial Church of God in Christ with the Rev. John Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Jamison's Funeral Home.

He died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Methodist Hospital.

He was born July 26, 1921, in New Boston. His wife, Augusta, preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons, Edward Herby and Paul Johnson, both of Carlsbad, N.M., and James Herby of Dalhart; three daughters, Fannie Stewart and Teressa Washington, both of Lubbock, and Wanda Hood of Abernathy; two brothers, Billie Joe Johnson of Laughton, Okla., and Donell Johnson of Heratio, Ark.; six sisters, Marie Williams and Dorothy Dixie and Geneva Cooper, all of Dekalb, and Betty McNeal, Hazel Nary and Sarah Thompson, all of Carlsbad, N.M.; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
