Obituary

Maxine Johnson, 88, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in Claude. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 13, 2012, at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 8, 1924, to John and Daisy Tubman in Dalhart, Texas. She married James Samuel Johnson on Feb. 26, 1949, in Plainview, Texas. He preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Barbara McCollum; and one grandson, Michael Paul McCollum. She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Pugh and husband L.J. of Azle, Texas, and Ruth Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Gary Johnson and wife Debbie of Claude, Texas, and Dusty Johnson and wife Glenda of Plainview, Texas; one sister, Mildred Huguley and husband A.G. of Olton, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
