Obituary

Services for Carol Brewer Johnson, 71, of Hale Center will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Green officiating. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center. Mrs. Johnson died at her home Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was born Feb. 24, 1941, in Hale County and was a lifelong Hale Center resident and member of First Baptist Church. She married Edwin "Ed" Lewis Johnson on July 13, 1962, in Cotton Center. He died Nov. 21, 2009. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Beverly Johnson of Cotton Center and Murvin and Pam Johnson of Hale Center; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl and Connie Bowman of Littlefield and Patricia Johnson of Hale Center; one sister, Gweneth Purvis of Georgetown; three brothers, Bobby Brewer of Brownfield, Sammy Brewer of Lubbock and Billy Brewer of Sulfur, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A brother, Dwain Brewer, and two sisters, Nanny Jarnigan and Mary Sue Brewer, are deceased.
