Emilio Jimenez, 94, of Hale Center passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Mr. Elias Moralez officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Kornerstone Chapel. Emilio was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Dalhart, Texas. He was a member of Halfway Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon since 1978. He farmed for Curry Farms for 48 years. He married Clara Jimenez on Jan. 8, 1939 in Cotulla, Texas. He is preceded in death by his daughter Emma Jimenez. Emilio is survived by his wife Clara of Hale Center; 10 daughters, Mary Calderon, Romona Trevino, Janie Calderon, Olga Quintana, Josie Silvas, Alma Pool, Sylvia Luera, Martha Medina, Amy Puente and Victoria Jimenez; five sons, Emilio Jimenez Jr., Johnny Jimenez, Robert Jimenez, Ricky Jimenez and Eddie Jimenez; 125 grandchildren, 155 great-grandchildren and 57 great-great-grandchildren.
