Obituary

Louvina Faye Flake Jett, age 93, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, in the Lemons Memorial Chapel with Dustin Patterson Interim Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Faye was born April 7, 1920, to Floyd Everett and Johnnie Lee (Green) Chaney in Plainview. She married W.A. Flake in September of 1940. She worked alongside him all the years he farmed: driving a grain truck, taking lunches to the field, moving farm equipment or whatever needed to be done. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Flake passed away in 1973. Faye married Jessie Jett in 1975 and moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. Upon his death she moved back to Plainview in 1988 to be near her family. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts, ceramics, and porcelain dolls. Most of all she enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers, Floyd, Curtis and Robert Chaney; two sisters, Marie Clark and Hazel Pollock; and infant daughter Margaret Faye.
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Melba and Troy Neeley, Alvaretta and Jerry Wofford, Barbara and Ray Lee, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Pomykal of Plainview, one brother Horace Chaney of Mansfield, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
