Jeffreys, Lloyd, Mrs. (Marie Turner Havenhill)

Funeral services for Marie Jeffreys, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Dr. Gene Meacham, director of the Caprock-Plains Baptist Area, officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman- Abell Funeral home.

Mrs. Jeffreys died Sunday, May 6, 2001, in Hi-Plains Nursing Home.

She was born March 18, 1916, the daughter of Jake and Mattie Turner, in Parker County, Okla. She moved with her family to Quitaque in 1926 in a covered wagon. She moved to Hale Center in 1939. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a volunteer for Civil Defense.
In August 1939, she married Reno Havenhill, He died in 1960. She married Lloyd Jeffreys and his wife Wanda of Clovis, N.M; Two step-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and four nieces and 13 nephews.
