HALE CENTER- Funeral services for Roy M. Jefferson, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Mr. Jefferson died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, in Hi-plains Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1920, in Olustee, Okla. He graduated from Kress High School. He served with the U.S. Army from 1945-1946 and also the Korean War. He farmed until retiring.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and First Baptist Church.
He married Inez Lee on Dec. 24, 1938, in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter and her husband, Billie Ruth and Morris Bowen of Waco; a son and his wife, Royce and Judy Jefferson of Grapevine; a brother, Frank Jefferson of Elgin; two sisters, Recia Kelly of San Antonio and Ruby Marsh of Prague, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Ricky Bowen, Greg and Philicia Bowen, Rodney Bowen, Debbie and David Bush, Melissa Schaefer, Lisa and Trevor Kuiken; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Mooney, Dick Lemond, Melvin Ritchey, Herman Cozart, D.W. Harkins and C.D. Ashmore.
