Obituary

Deena Kay Januta, 50, of Mesquite was surrounded by family when she joined the Lord on Feb. 10, 2007, after a courageous 9-year struggle with cancer.

Deena was born Jan. 14, 1957, in Monahans, Texas, and graduated from Claude High School in 1975. She graduated from Amarillo College of Dental Hygiene and was employed in Rockwall for 17 years with her brother, Dr. Stan Lowrance, DDS. Deena is survived by her spouse, Richard Januta and teenage sons David Januta and Stephen Januta; mother, Glenna Lowrance of Southlake; siblings and spouses, Brenda (David) Land of Midlothian, Texas, Dr. Stan (Cyndie) Lowrance of Rockwall, Texas, and Lenna (Scott) Summy of Southlake, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Dean Lowrance, former superintendent of Childress Public Schools, her grandparents, and her father-in-law, Mike Januta.

Deena's smile and spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, church, patients and community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Deena's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Visitation and rosary was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Sparkman Crane, 10501 Garland Road in Dallas. Funeral Mass was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road in Dallas. Arrangements were by Sparkman Crane Funeral Home of Dallas.

Deena's remains were interred next to her beloved father-in-law, Mike, in the Januta family plot.
