Jamison, Fred E., Sr.
Funeral services for Fred E. Jamison Sr., 85, were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Colquitt Nash, minister, officiating.
Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.
Mr. Jamison died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born July 19, 1918, in Woodward, Okla., the son of Floyd Merrill and Lela Stone Jamison. He graduated from Woodward High School and entered the U.S. Army where he served in the Corps of Engineers during World War II.
He helped construct the Pantex Plant east of Amarillo, the prisoner of war camp west of Hereford and the Air Force Base in Woodward, Okla.
He moved to Plainview in 1946 and worked as a service manager for the Coca-Cola Co., retiring in 1979.
He was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ.
On Oct. 21, 1939, he married Daphine Thornton in Wynoka, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred E. and JoAnne Jamison Jr., of Abilene, and Robert M. and Glenda Jamison of Germantown, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and spouses, Richey Havenhill, Scott Havenhill, Jerri and William P. Adams Jr., Shonne and Terry Landry, Jenni and Ed Prist, Justin Jamison, Fred E. and Hilary Jamison III; and seven great-grandchildren.
A sister, Winifred DeWolf, and a daughter, Genevia Havenhill, are deceased
