Obituary

Funeral services for Robert "Ray" Jameson, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Jameson died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. He was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Amarillo to Thomas Nelson and Virgie May Jameson. He married Will Allen "Billie" Stodghill on June 19, 1947, in Amarillo. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1944-47. He helped with Mark 4, Mark 7 and atomic bombs at Los Alamos. He worked for General Motors for many years, winning many awards. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Allen "Bob" and Heather Mary Jameson of Yancyville, N.C.; and two grandchildren. His parents and a son, David "Ray" Jameson, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Plainview. Online condolences can be made at [email protected]
