Obituary

Danny James, 70, of Plainview passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at the Family Life Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Plainview with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Kornerstone. Danny was born on Oct. 31, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marshall A.G. and Ima Lee James. He moved to Plainview in 1962. Danny was a barber for 32 years and owned D.J.'s and was also an insurance agent for 20 years at Hale County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was a true family man. Danny was the most loving and giving husband, dad, stepdad and PawPaw, brother and father-in-law. He married Beverly Eddleman Webb on July 7, 2001, in Plainview. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Middie Freeman. Survivors include his wife Beverly James of Plainview; daughter Michelle Sahinler and husband Bolkar of Lubbock; son Marshall Scott James of Plainview; two stepsons, Jeff Webb and wife Erika of Lubbock, Michael Webb and wife Ashley of Lubbock; two sisters, Marcella Durham and husband Royce of Kress, Ima Mae Stanford and husband Loyd of Springtown; six grandchildren, Seth Sahinler, Jake Sahinler, Aaron James, Lindsey James, Haley Thornton, Mikayla Thornton; and one great-granddaughter Athena James.
