Obituary

LOCKNEY - Memorial services for James C. Jacobs, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview with R. Edwin Norris of Silverton officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Jacobs died at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, in Mangold Memorial Hospital. He was born March 27, 1915, in Arkansas. He grew up in the Silverton and Turkey areas where he attended schools. He was a rancher. On Dec. 31, 1936, he married Della Askey. She died in 1978. Survivors include one daughter, Janie Getz of Fort Worth; four stepdaughters, DeAnn Burson and Martha Hawk, both of Silverton, Doris Marier of Irving, and Lynn Marier of Floydada; one brother, Joe Jacobs of Plainview; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, James A. Jacobs, is deceased.
