Obituary

Funeral services for LeAndra Kay Jackson, 25, will be held at First Baptist Church, Plainview, at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Home. Miss Jackson died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in New Orleans, La. She was born Feb. 3, 1981, in Tulia, Texas, to Roy Gene Jackson and Sharon McKelvy Jackson of Plainview, Texas. She attended school in Kress, Texas, from kindergarten through 10th grade, and Plainview, Texas, her junior and senior year, graduating in 1999. She attended three years at Lubbock Christian University, Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of Happy Union Baptist Church, Plainview, Texas. Survivors include her parents; her daughter, Samara Korynne Jackson of Plainview; three brothers, Robby Lynn Jackson (Jodina) of Kress, Texas, Christopher Michael Jackson of Canyon, Texas, and Landon Henderson Jackson of Plainview, Texas; her grandparents, Donald McKelvy of Kress, Texas, JoNell and the Rev. B. C. Brennon of Borger, Texas, and Marie Jackson of Kress, Texas; two nieces, Teyah LeAnn Jackson and Raven Sanae Jackson of Amarillo., Texas; and a nephew, Christopher Jackson of Canyon, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles and special friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roosevelt Jackson Sr., and aunt Minnie Lou Snead. LeAndra has left this life to an even greater life, that being with her Lord and Savior. She was an extra special person and, if you ever met her, you know that her big beautiful smile will be greatly missed. She was a very kind and loving person. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today. The family suggest memorials to the American Heart Association or the Ronald McDonald House.
